Given below are the detailed instructions to add a Website to Purple Leaf
Step 1
Click on Add a website Button. This initiates the process of connecting your website to Purple Leaf. It’s the first step in allowing the platform to access and analyze your website to generate posts for social media.
Step 2
Enter the Website URL in the provided field and click on the Next Button.
Please check the “This website is built with WordPress box” if your website is made in WordPress. Purple Leaf offers additional functionality for WordPress users making post creation even simpler and faster.
Step 3
If Purple Leaf is not able to find the sitemap for the website it throws up this error as shown below. Here you have two options, share the correct name of the sitemap file and Purple Leaf will find it for you or click on the “My Website does not have a sitemap file” Button.
Before we proceed, a short note on Sitemaps. A sitemap is like the skeleton of a website. It shows all the main parts—like pages, videos, and files—and how they’re connected. A sitemap is important because it helps search engines understand and explore your website better thereby improving indexability & searchability. In case your website doesn’t have a sitemap, we would recommend you add one. However a sitemap is not necessary for you to use Purple Leaf.
Step 4
Option 1: A Sitemap is available
In such a scenario, enter the Correct Sitemap File Name and press the Next Button. Purple Leaf will automatically find the sitemap on your website and start analyzing your website content, preparing it for social media post generation.
Option 2: No Sitemap available
In such a scenario merely click the “‘My website does not have a sitemap file” button before submitting.
When adding a website without a sitemap to Purple Leaf, users would need to add pages that they would like posts to be created for manually in the User Pages tab.
Step 5
Once the verification is complete, click on the Submit Button. This confirms that all necessary info has been entered and starts the processing of your website’s content for post generation.
Step 6
Once the website has been successfully submitted the following message will appear. Click on the close button and wait for your website processing to be completed.
If your website is under processing your website dashboard screen would look like this. Notice how all three steps – Initial analysis, Page categories and Social Media posts are currently in processing.
One by One, the AI completes all three steps.
Once your website processing is complete and each of the steps is marked as ready, you are good to go.
Note: Each paid Purple Leaf plan includes one website by default. To manage multiple websites, additional add-on plans are available for purchase.
